Adelitta Stanton: The Trailblazing Organizer and Advocate for Accessible Tech

Adelitta Stanton is a dynamic hacker, MLH Hackathon Organizer, and the inspiring co-president of HackaBull, Tampa’s largest hackathon! Adelitta’s transformative introduction to tech initially undecided about her major, a friend invited her to HackaBull, and the creative, welcoming atmosphere instantly captivated her. This single 24-hour experience of building and collaborating had such a profound impact that she switched her major to Computer Science. Since then, she’s moved from a participant to the dedicated co-president of HackaBull, where she helps welcome hundreds of attendees and secure significant sponsorships.

Growing up in a Title I high school in rural Florida with limited STEM opportunities, Adelitta is deeply committed to making technology more accessible and helping others discover paths they might not have known existed. She actively mentors students through organizations like the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and Latinas in Tech (SHPE), guiding them through their first hackathons and early career steps.

In addition, the UN has recognized her dedication to expanding access to tech education and named a United Nations Millennium Fellow in 2024. Adelitta stands as a powerful advocate ensuring others, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds, can find their place within computer science.

Adelitta’s favorite programming language is Python for its flexibility, and she relies on Linux for its development power. She fondly remembers the welcoming environment of her HackaBull experience and the resilience learned while securing sponsorships as an organizer. When she’s not leading HackaBull, Adelitta enjoys painting to recharge her creativity. Her journey—studying abroad in Germany to learn about global technology trends— showcases her dedication to building communities that expand awareness, mentoring new technologists, and shaping the future of tech.
