Roshni Kumari: The Hacker Who Builds More Than Code
Roshni Kumari’s journey into technology began in her first year of college during a basic C++ course. At first she felt overwhelmed, yet the moment her logic worked and the screen responded she discovered a creative spark she had never felt in a classroom. That spark grew brighter when she built her first web page with HTML and CSS and saw her ideas spring to life. “It gave me a sense of creativity and control I had never experienced before,” she recalls.
Her introduction into hacker culture came at Build with India, Fall 2025, a national hackathon where she and three classmates tackled a social‑impact challenge. The team did not place, but the thrill of ideation under tight deadlines changed everything. “I realised innovation and teamwork matter more than perfection,” Roshni says. From that weekend forward coding was no longer just coursework. It was a way to solve problems and serve people.
Today Roshni is an active member of IEEE GU, Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors, AWS Cloud Club, Google Developer Student Clubs, Hack the Mountains and several open‑source programs including GSSoC and TimeChain Summer of Code. Whether she is speaking at a bootcamp, organising webinars, or mentoring first‑time contributors, her goal remains constant: lift others as she rises. “My aspiration has always been to raise others up, and I am glad to be a positive influence in this thriving community.”
Roshni’s technical range reaches from AI and cloud computing to data science, DevOps and business intelligence. She has applied those skills to real‑world projects such as AI‑powered applications that support digital transformation. Colleagues praise her for bridging the gap between deep tech and practical impact.
Some of her favourite memories highlight resilience and community spirit. At her debut hackathon a teammate accidentally deleted half their code only hours before judging. Instead of panicking, the group laughed, grabbed snacks and rebuilt a better version. Another time she received a message from a stranger who used her LinkedIn tutorial to make their first open‑source contribution. “That showed me how small acts of knowledge‑sharing can create a massive impact,” she says.
When Roshni steps away from the keyboard you might find her dancing, sketching or journaling. She describes herself as “too talkative yet generally an introvert,” a combination that helps her connect warmly while still listening deeply.
With technical skill, leadership experience and a generous heart, Roshni Kumari is proving that hacking is about far more than code. It is about curiosity, connection and empowering others to discover their own potential. As she puts it, “I always try to build and learn more, even when I cannot do everything. My vision and my willingness to share truly set me apart.”
